Planning and Development Services Department

The Planning and Development Services Department was created in January 2016 to serve as a one stop resource for all land use planning, economic development, historic preservation, neighborhood revitalization, inspections, and permits from initial application through certificate of occupancy. The Department’s goal is to plan and guide the development of the City in a manner that enhances the quality of life of its residents and visitors.

The Historic Preservation Design and Review Board (HPDRB) is currently accepting applications for 7 new members who are qualified in one of the following disciplines or has related experience:
  • Architect
  • Architectural historian
  • Archeologist
  • Historian
  • Heritage tourism professional
  • Historic property owner
  • Professional Engineer
The application will close September 25, 2017.
